Thousands of passengers are being affected today by a bus strike that began at midnight. The work stoppage was decided after negotiations between the union led by Roberto Fernández and the ministry authorities ended without agreement. Jorge Kiener, the union's internal secretary, confirmed that the decision to hold a 24-hour strike was made due to the lack of progress in the talks.
The strike impacts users of more than 300 lines operating in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires. However, some lines are still operating despite the strike. These include DOTA lines such as 6, 7, and 31, and others like METROPOL and Misión Buenos Aires.
On the other hand, there are a large number of lines joining the strike and not providing service today. Some of these are 2, 15, and 34. The interruption in service is due to the lack of an agreement between UTA and the business chambers, which reported that the proposals presented were not accepted by the union during yesterday's negotiations.
